10 Ways To Get A Hotel Deal In Ireland
16.06.2008
Hotel Deal In Ireland
Having worked in hotels in Ireland for many years, the most frequent question I was asked by friends, family and customers was how do you get a hotel deal in Ireland? So I have decided to put together a top ten list of ways to get a hotel deal in Ireland.
- Book in Advance - If you know when you are looking to get away try an book as early as possible, similar to the airline industry, hotels yield their rates and increase their rates as their supply decreases.
- Flexible Travel Dates - If you are flexible with your dates and can travel during an off peak time (midweek) you will most likely get a very good hotel deal. Also follow tip 1.
- Inclusive Hotel Packages- Book an inclusive hotel package such as a 2BB1D (2 Nights Bed & Breakfast & 1 evening meal) you will get better value. If you book a bed & breakfast rate and then decide to have dinner at the hotel, you often will be given the A La Carte menu which is priced higher.
- Email Newsletters - Join hotel websites email newsletter alerts, by doing this you will be the first to hear about the latest offers. Many of these offers have limited availability so if you are first to know about it you should get a hotel deal.
- Enter Competitions - If you come across a hotel competition enter your details, if you don’t win the first prize you often get exclusive offers for simply entering your details.
- Friends & Family Programs - If you have family, friends or relatives that work in a hotel you should ask them does the hotel run a friends and family programs. This programs have low cost hotel offers exclusively for friends and family.
- Company Social Club- Check out with your companies sports and social club notice boards or intranet, many hotels send in exclusive hotel deals to companies.
- Text Alerts: Sign up to hotel websites text alert options, hear you will get notification about hotel deals usually once a month, just read the terms and conditions!
- Hotel Websites: Keep an eye on hotel websites as many of the hotel deals are published first on the Internet.
- Corporate Account- Check to see if your company has a corporate account with the hotel you are travelling to, they often have preferred rates for leisure breaks for companies employees even if they are not traveling on business.
Well I hope that these are helpful if you come across any others just let me know and I will add them to the list.

Why Some People Almost Always Get The Best Hotel Deals
24.05.2008
When is the best time to get a good deal for Hotels in Ireland?
As we say here at www.hotelsinone.ie there is always a deal somewhere all of the time but for the most part some dates are better then others.
Let’s say we are talking about non City Hotels.
Slow Sunday – Sunday is the toughest day of the week for all Hotels. Leisure guests are returning home after the weekend and business guests usually won’t arrive until Monday. Sunday is the best day to get the lowest price.
Like the Airlines the best way to get a Hotel deal is if you are flexible with your dates. If you are lucky enough to be able to go away when you want to you will get amazing deals. Midweek Sun/Thur is the best time for lowest prices and I am not just talking during the off peak period. There will be exceptions such as midterm breaks when Hotels maybe busier.
For non City Hotels the peak period is from Mid June when the kids get school holidays to the last week of August. The nearer you get to August the busier it will be. Even during these times it is still possible to get a deal. Every hotel in the country will not be lucky enough to be full during this period. Also most hotels will still not be full Sunday/Thursday even during the peak season.
Do I book early or wait??
This can be difficult. For the most parts hotels will increase their prices as they fill up so usually it is best to book early. Word of caution if hotels do not fill for busy times they may lower their prices later.
Do you know any tricks to get low prices? Let us know. Also if you know a Hotel that offers great prices you would like to see on www.hotelsinone.ie again let us know.
On Monday the 27th of May we will have a low call number so if you prefer to call rather then check us out online. The number is 1890 987 947 Monday-Friday 0830am – 6pm.

Hotel in Ireland What is A Fair Price?
22.05.2008
Ok I would like to ask the Irish Public what you think a fair price for a Hotel night is and I mean a fair price. Lets say based on a 3 Star Hotel. As everyone here at www.hotelsinone.ie formally worked in Hotels in Ireland there are a few things you should know about hotel prices, before you let us know what you think.
When a Hotel offers a rate there number of costs that have to be removed from this before any profit is made.
- Hotels must pay VAT of 13.5% on what you pay them.
- If the price includes breakfast then there is a cost involved in the food, here is some food for thought food is a loss maker for most hotels.
- There is a cost in cleaning your room & energy prices are gone crazy, as we all know when we fill up of our cars. There is the staff wage cost. Just think of all those staff in the restaurant running the loss making food service??
Why am I saying all the above? I would like people to be realistic and realise that there are a lot of cost involved that a hotel has to take out before any profit is made. If a hotel offers a rate for €49 then give us your reasons and how you think a Hotel cannot lose on this?
We know at www.hotelsinone.ie there is always a great hotel deal to be found in Ireland. This is especially so with the current slowdown. Today I saw on www.hotelsinone.ie the Rock Glen Hotel in Clifden Galway have setup a special 5 Nights B&B and Dinner each night for €350 per person Sun/Thur.
Looks good to me? I am sure you will tell us what looks good to you.
